Bishop Donald W.Trautman, bishop of Erie Diocese, blesses new statues and opens the Anniversary Year with a Mass.
White Mass 10/18/09
As part of the our 125th Anniversary a White Mass was celebrated for the Medical Personnel of the area. Ss. Cosmas and Damian are the patrons of those who work in the Medical Professional. White was the common color of the coat worn by the medical staff. Fr. Gregory Gregorek was the main celebrant/homilist.
40 Hours 10/27/09
Our annual 40 hours devotions with Msgr. Robert Smith, Vicar General of the Diocese of Erie, Msgr. Charles Kaza, Vicar of the Western Vicariate and native son, along with Fr. Bill Laska, a native son. Fr. Greg Passauer, a former associate was also a part of the celebration.
Opening of Heritage Room 11/8/09
After two years of collating and piecing together articles, photographs and objects from the past, Fr. Justin opened the Heritage Room's permanent exhibit of the History of SSCD from its founding to the present on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009.
Anointing Service 12/10/09
Continuing our 125th Anniversary Year of Celebration, Fr. Jack Bauer, former pastor, returns to be the main celebrant at our Anointing Service. He spoke on "Coping with Illness."
Blessing of Parish Organizations 1/15/10

Parish Mission 2/14/10
Fr. John Murray, C.Ss.R, a redemptorist Father from Long Branch, NJ, led the parish in a four day spiritual exercise called a Parish Mission or Retreat.
Wehrle Lecture 3/17/10
Fr. Justin P. Pino, parochial vicar and historian gave an extensive review of the life and ministry of Msgr. Joseph Wehrle, native son and fourth pastor here at SSCD
Mass of the Oils 3/29/10
SSCD hosted the blessing and consecration of the oils by Bishop Trautman that are used in the Diocese throughout the year for the various Sacraments.
Msgr. Wienker's Interment
Msgr. Herman Clement Wienker founded SS. Cosmas and Damian Church in 1885. He died while retired in DuBois, PA in 1926 and was buried at St. Catherine's cemetery, along side his sister, Josefine. He was brought home to SSCD cemetery on 4/8/10. A Memorial Mass was celebrate by Father Ed Lohse, Chancellor of the Diocese of Erie on 4/27/10 on the 74th anniversary of his death.
May Crowning
Msgr. Mark Bartchak, Judicial Vicar of Diocese of Erie, joined us on May 18 for a parish-wide May Crowning of Our Blessed Lady. All the organizations of the parish were represented, along with members of the First Communion Class.
